Grant Hunter is a Creative Consultant specialising in brand and creative strategy for Sports, Entertainment and the Green Economy. Founder of Cosmic Microwave and former Iris CCO, he authored "Newsjacking" and created the London 2012 mascots. As a creative innovator, he believes in creating cultural ideas that truly connect with people so that they, in turn, drive commercial success.

He’s worked at local, regional and global levels with multi-national brands. He’s just completed MIT’s Applied Generative AI for Digital Transformation, is navigating the art of beekeeping and has initiated his 50 by 60 creative project.

From calling on world leaders at COP26 for QCF, to calling out to the creative community to use their creativity for The Purpose Disruptors to asking the world to donate their social power for WWF’s Earth Hour.

CREATING A CREATIVE CULTURE

Experimentation to keep creatives refreshed and constantly curious is a must. I’ve always looked to bring in creative stimulus from outside to create space from the day-to-day. I’m a long standing supporter of Straight 8 and sit on the advisory board. Straight 8 celebrates the beauty of 8mm film. You have to shoot in sequence on one roll, no post production, all editing takes place in camera. You supply an original soundtrack and then send your film to the Straight 8 guys to get it processed. The first time you see your film is on the big screen in a cinema in Cannes. Under my direction Iris became the most successful agency in the history of the Straight 8 Industry shootout with 3 golds & 2 silvers.

Under The Influence was a monthly inspiration injection which evolved into a multi venue (x6 pubs) festival in Borough Market - we even brewed our own IPA. More recently I instigated the AI explorers programme where we challenged cross department teams to create using the latest AI tools in a race to amass the most followers.
